Detoxifying Epsom Salt Bath

One of the simplest and most relaxing ways to detoxify and rejuvenate is by taking an epsom salt bath. Ahhh!

 

We are exposed to toxins and pollutants daily through the air we breathe and the water we drink and more. If you are dealing with tick-borne infections the toxic burden is on another level entirely and daily detoxification in some form is a  must do.  Toxins cause inflammation in our bodies and over time can lead to damage and illness. Fortunately our brilliant bodies have a built in detox system which includes your liver, kidneys, colon, and skin. 

 

An epsom salt bath is one way to help out our built in detox system. Epsom salt is magnesium and sulfate which draw toxins out of the body. Circulation is improved, stress is relieved, inflammation is reduced, muscle and nerve function is improved. Magnesium stimulates the production of serotonin which produces feelings of calm and well-being. All of these contribute immensely to immune health! 

 

When I was very ill I was in an epsom salt bath daily, sometimes at 10 a.m., sometimes at 2 a.m. The immediate effect on my nervous system (and my typically very low body temperature) was profound! 

 

Here’s what you do:

Fill a tub with warm-hot water. Add 2-3 cups of plain (cheap) epsom salts to the running water. Do not add soap, bubbles, or anything else. Soak for 20 minutes or so. Ideally, lay down or go to bed afterwords.

 

Everyone can benefit from this simple, yet profound detoxification method. Enhance the experience with a lit candle and some lemon water!
