Get to know grapefruit seed extract!

Grapefuit seed extract (GSE) comes from the peel, seeds, and pulp of grapefruits and it has many medicinal properties. It is high in phytochemicals making it a potent disease fighting antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial. It's uses range from enhancing the immune system to fighting candida infections to surface disinfecting and more.
A recent study from The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that grapefruit seed extract was effective in killing over 800 bacterial and viral strains, 100 strains of fungus, and a large number of parasites. Talk about a potent substance!
Everyone should know about grapefruit seed extract yet most have never heard of it. I was recently picking up a bottle at a health food store and the lovely person working there asked me what I use it for. She said I am the only person who buys it regularly and she was wondering why.
For those with Lyme disease and co-infections, grapefruit seed extract can be an important healing supplement due to it's antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, and antifungal properties. It is often prescribed to help prevent or treat a candida/yeast infection while taking antibiotics and to specifically target the cyst form of the lyme bacteria.

General uses for grapefruit seed extract include:

Antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiparasitic
